Elevated moisture lingering across the central and western Caribbean will continue to become enhanced throughout today as a tropical wave across western Jamaica slowly begins to drift across our area this afternoon. An increase in winds are also expected throughout the next 24 hours as the pressure gradient over the region continues to strengthen bringing deteriorating marine conditions as a result with a Small Craft Advisory in effect this morning. Satellite imagery indicates a few low to mid-level clouds over the Cayman Islands moving westerly.

is for similar weather conditions through early-Wednesday as an associated mid-level trough across the central Caribbean slowly drifts into Central America thereafter, supporting a continued increase in low to mid level moisture over the western Caribbean allowing for periods of scattered showers with some thunder at times to continue. A general improvement in conditions are expected by Wednesday with winds and seas also expected to begin easing as a result of a weakening pressure gradient.
